Caravan Add Venture’s lead instructor is a retired Police Officer with a distinguished 37-year career in law enforcement.  Throughout his career, Paul demonstrated an unwavering commitment to road safety and excelled in traffic law and defensive driver training techniques. 

Paul served in several areas throughout the State including general patrol duties, Traffic Services Branch, State Highway Patrol, Traffic Training Section and then, for 9 years prior to his retirement, as a senior instructor with the Driver Training Team.

Beyond his technical expertise, Paul was known for his integrity & leadership qualities and for his ability to inspire continuous improvement in his colleagues and students. 

Paul has always had a passion for training and, as he transitions into retirement, he continues to be a positive influence in shaping safer roads and educating the public on safer choices as road users.

The idea of Caravan Add Venture started years ago when Paul and his family would observe drivers struggling with the process of reversing their caravan at caravan parks.  Adding to this stress was the audience that novice owners would gather after 3 or 4 attempts to reverse.  Always the police officer, he would offer to assist the driver which eventually led to his services being requested by friends and family.

On a personal level, Paul and his family have owned several four-wheel drives and caravans over the years.  Paul and his wife Kerri currently own a 22-foot Design RV Forerunner dual axle caravan which they tow behind a Toyota Landcruiser 200 Series.  When time permits, they both continue to travel extensively around Australia.
